MEMBERSHIP

Members of CPTP come from all walks of life and with a diverse range of experience and skills.

From first-timers to professionals seeking the chance to try out new ideas, all are welcome.

As well as actors, many other vital people are needed to make our plays successful.

We need technical wizards to design lighting, sound, sets and costumes. We need people with the ability to find the unlikliest item and make it of use in a play, be it a prop, a costume or an item of furniture. And we need resourceful people with management skills - and lots of free time! - to direct, produce and stage manage.

But most of all we need members who enjoy working as part of a collaborative creative team and know how to have fun.

Members receive a CPTP membership card which entitles them to one concession rate ticket per card at shows. In addition, we organise members only theatre trips, often at discount rates, and members only socials and technical and play workshops. We are in the process of devising further membership benefits.

All actors, backstage staff and show management teams are required to be members of CPTP.

If all this looks like being right up your street, you can join CPTP either at auditions or at one of our socials, or just follow the instructions on the right on how to join.

MEMBERS' RESOURCES

This site contains a section for members which includes theatre technical specifications, expenses forms, stage manager tables, guidelines for crews and much else besides. If you're a member and wish to access this area you'll need a username and password; get these from michael@cp-theatre.org.uk and then login at the members' resources area.

Membership Rates

We've revised our membership rates for the beginning of the 2009/10 season. All categories last for 12 months from when your application is processed.

Standard Rate: £40
The standard rate covers everyone who wishes to act, direct, produce, stage manage or be otherwise involved in the company. (Equity members get a £5 discount on this rate, so pay £35.)

Concession Rate: £25
The concession rate is available for the following categories:
NUS/ISIC, Registered Disabled, Senior Citizens, UB40 and current CPTP members renewing their membership for a second year (must be renewed within two weeks of membership expiring). You must provide your ID (eg. CPTP membership card, UB40 book, NUS card) and at least one of the following: passport, driver's licence, birth certificate, when applying for this rate.

Family Rate: £50
The family rate covers up to four people in the same family, or a couple, who live at the same address. All become full members, and are added to the e-news mailing list. Only one membership form is needed per family - however, please write all names and e-mail addresses on the reverse.

Friends Rate: £15
The friends rate means you will receive all benefits of being a member, EXCEPT being directly involved in the shows (acting, directing etc). It is a rate aimed mostly at people who have moved out of the area, but who still wish to remain in touch and support the group.

Fill in the form and, together with your cheque payable to 'Chelsea Players', bring them to our next members' social. Alternatively, contact Julie Ford, our membership officer (email julie@cp-theatre.org.uk).

Due to security issues we are not publishing postal addresses - and we thank you for your understanding.

Membership lasts for one year from when we process your payment. Please ensure you fill in the GiftAid section - make your money go further!

When you are added to our members' mailing list, you will receive details of forthcoming auditions, productions and social events and your membership card, which allows discounted entry to CPTP shows.
