Phil Young’s award-winning Crystal Clear confronts the basic question of how successfully two blind people can live in a world made for the sighted. This passionate and intense story is a sharp study of the experience of blindness as well as a picture of love trying to shut out the dark. Crystal Clear, a devised piece originally staged at the Old Red Lion Theatre, won Phil Young the most promising playwright gong at the Evening Standard theatre awards in 1983.
