PRODUCTION NOTES

Brian and Shelia live in apparently affluent comfort: but in reality their marriage is breaking down. One evening Brian nearly runs down Gerry Stephens in his car, and invites him in for a drink to recover. Gerry soon discovers the truth of Brian’s domestic situation - he is dependant on Shelia for money and loves another woman. In fact, it would be to Brian’s advantage if Shelia were to die.

Gerry suggests a "fool-proof" method of making this happen, adding that he himself only wants the satisfaction of committing a perfect murder. Brain is persuaded to accept Gerry’s plan, provided that he himself will not be involved. The murder is carried out successfully- but it is not long before Brian realises that, by agreeing to Gerry's plan, he has indeed exchanged the frying pan for the fire...
